It's the mid-term break this week but it hardly feels like a mid-term break. There are still so many people hanging around school. Me, Liling, WaiKay, Charis and even ShanLi. I have quite alot of work to do but for some reason I can't get the momentum. Ey still trying hard. Seems like breaks in life have become fewer and fewer. All part of growing up maybe. Even though we are reaching our prime, we have to be more productive. Hopefully we can be producing something that we actually like and have an affinity for. For now, I will just have to get on with my dendritic spines and ELISAs. Not that I don't appreciate my education. Sometimes I may even be appreciating too much and letting it suck all the life out of me.
Come buy wine and milk,
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labour on what does not satisfy?

Missing my health
I miss the good health that I enjoyed in the past. Today I had a sore eye and found a boil on myself. Oh my gosh. But if there's one thing that my university education has given me, it's to read up about all these medical stuff and actually understand them. Definitely going to see a doctor tomorrow. Not to mention all the nasal hypersensitivity that I have been experiencing since December last year. Haix. Besides worrying about my HYP I need to worry about my health too! Lab is such a health hazard. I'll be happy to finish up my experiments soon. Soon please!
Sweeny Todd was so bloody last night. I fully understand why Liling kept hiding herself behind during those scenes. I can't take them much myself. Trust Tim Burton to make his cinematics so explicit. Otherwise the story was fine. Ugh. Actually there was this superpoke in facebook called make meatpie out of. How literal that was.

Chinese New Year
My Chinese New Year consisted of visiting friend's places, watching TV, and attempts to finish up my assignment at home. I must say that the neuro assignment is quite challenging. I have hardly grasp the basic knowledge and it seems like I'm delving into more complicated things. Thank God for textbooks!!!
Sharmaine's place was the first place that I visited. Her house is so lovely, with a pond that has dragonflies flying around and cutie girl bedrooms. And her dad was friendly too. Hehe. We actually moved a sofa to her bedroom so that I could sleep on it. Sharmaine's flexibility in life amazes me sometimes. She just knows that it can be dowe and would go round the mountain ten times to find a way. Haha. And I also got a couple of swatch watches from her man! Yay!
Supposed to go visit Diana on Fri but my nose seemed to be rather afflicted so I decided to give myself the rest that I needed. Bleh. It was the only time when I rested out of need rather then desire. Work Work Work on Sat and then visited ChunLei's place today. His parents are really good cooks. They'll be really popular if they set up a store here. Best food from China that I've had so far in Sg really! His family was so hospitable.
And then I found myself travelling to the east to Sophia's place even though it's rather far from my place. I couldn't help it. After all, it was a past tradition to go visit the east clusters. Hurhur. Sophia's parents were very nice too and looked genuinely happy to have all of us around. They also had very yummy food but we were so blessed that we couldn't contain it. Haha. And then they gave all of us kams even though many of us didn't bring to exchange with them. Somehow Sophia also gave me a Finding Wally book and I finally discovered how the 'game' was played. Supposed to try your squinting abilities.
We also went YK's place and enjoyed his coffee making services. Can't believe that he had such an intense modern war game at his place too. Oh and so it's Monday tomorrow. Actually during service time I was reminded that God gives us mornings even though we have gone through dark dark nights. I really appreciate the hope that we can have in our lives. Sometimes that's all that keeps us going fine. Ay lastly I must also say that I'm amazed at how generous my friends' parents are.

Parts of the brain!
I find my neuro module rather complicated and went to check out this song. Wa! How did I watch such shows as a kid. I must admit that there weeere time when I was unable to appreciate all those animaniacs stuff. Well in fact I appreciate some cartoons a bit more when I'm older and am able to decipher more of their humour. Hurhur. While searching for the lyrics for the song I actually came across alot of spelling errors for some of the technical terms. Crazy animaniacs!

Huoguo at Chonqin
Steamboat with my cell mates yesterday was fun. Still can't believe I did so many atrocious spilling and dropping acts. Even though i don't have many relatives over here to celebrate CNY with, it was a real treat to experience some festivities with my cells and friends. And our two kind working folks did give us a treat indeed! =)

My fruitful weekend
On Friday... I went back to lab in the evening to do a bit of work and ended up staying till 9 plus. Can't wait for all the lab work to end. If only the ELISA kit would work. Just once. Once! And that would be just wonderful. Well anyway... after lab that night, my deardear friends Liling and Joyce came over to crash at my place! Three people bunking in my room man. All's fine and bustly whislt we were awake and doing our own work. WA. But when I came to bedtime, it was quite a NIGHTMARE. For me la. Joyce was sleeping like a log... Liling was on the floor too so that wasn't the most comfortable place.
And the next day was Sat. We found a lovely cafe just beside my building. Looks like a convinient place to grab some food now and then. After breakfasting it was time to get down to work. At first I found doing work in my little square room rather conducive. Had everything with me and little distractions about. However, towards the evening I started to feel rather sick of writing my thesis... And I was starting to look forward to meeting Pam and JiaHao later plus going home.
Indeed, I felt as free as a bird by the time I made my way to adam! It suddenly felt refreshing to just experience a change of surroundings. Now I know what RongRong meant when she said she prefer riding the long MRT rides home from Boonlay and find a place of inspiration through some visual variations in her life. Suddenly my brain had some space to move around. Hehe.
Dinner was all rather fun but I was rather surprised to find that... we actually lost track of time!!! Or maybe it was just me... I didn't realize that we had met at 9.30pm and that's not a very early timing. Anyway I got quite a shock when Jiahao told me that the time was past 12 midnight already, and even thought he was kidding. Almost no buses to take home already ey. Not to mention that I was supposed to change a couple of buses. Anyway JH was real kind to give us a life home by getting the car from his place.
Went to church on Sun and celebrated ex-section mates' birthdays before going home to get extra sleep in the fine rainy weather. So that was my weekend. It didn't feel enough. Maybe I should go to school late tomorrow. Oh yay. Anyway I really that I must do something exciting at least once a week. Re-create myself man.
